Coaching, consultancy and development for the people serious about getting better. Built on real inter-county experience, and on teaching players and coaches to think for themselves rather than just follow a plan.
I'm Shane. I'm a High-Performance Team Consultant and I currently coach inter-county hurling. I've also been part of an All-Ireland Senior Hurling-winning setup, so I've seen up close what actually separates the good from the great.
My work sits where the technical meets the human. That means building game models, developing the physical side, and creating the kind of culture and standards that let players think clearly when the game gets messy. I bring the same intent whether I'm working with an inter-county panel or a club that's just decided it wants more.
My philosophy is simple. Great environments build great decision-makers. I won't hand you a folder of drills and call it a plan. I'll help you build the thinking, the structures and the standards that make good performances repeatable instead of lucky.
Three things, and they build on each other. Tell the truth, accept where you really are, then own what you do about it. Everything I do with a coach, athlete or team runs through these.
I'll say the thing most people are thinking but won't say. No sugar-coating, no telling you what you want to hear. You can't fix what nobody's willing to name out loud.
Real progress starts with an honest look in the mirror. Owning your strengths and your gaps without ego or excuses. You can't build from a place you won't admit you're standing in.
Once the truth's on the table, it's on you. No blaming the ref, the weather or the lads. The people who get better are the ones who take full responsibility for the next step.
Two areas of focus. One for the coaches who lead, and one for the teams that want to show up when it actually counts.
Practical, no-fluff workshops on session design, game models and the ideas that make coaching actually work. Have a look at the topics further down.
One to one work to sharpen your framework, your game model and the environment you create, built around how you really coach rather than how a textbook says you should.
An honest look at how you coach. Your sessions, your communication, your process. You'll get the truth, not flattery, plus clear actions to raise your standard.
I work alongside your management to build a game model, the structures around it and a clear plan that fits your group, not someone else's.
A full, honest review of where your team really stands, on and off the pitch, so you can see the gap between where you are and where you want to be.
Helping you define and actually live the culture, values and daily standards that every elite environment is built on.
Focused sessions you can book on their own or stack together into a proper development programme for your coaches or athletes.
This one comes in two parts. First, how to build a game model into the way you design sessions. Second, how to fold strength and conditioning principles into your everyday training instead of bolting them on.
Clear routines for before, during and after a game, so players know exactly how to prepare, how to respond when things go sideways, and how to recover properly.
How to define, build and protect a culture and a set of standards that actually hold up when the pressure comes on.
Getting clear on who you are as a coach. Your purpose, your philosophy and the identity that quietly shapes every decision you make.
Real communication skills for the sideline, the dressing room and the everyday relationships that hold a team together.
Cutting through the noise to find the numbers that actually matter, and how to run analysis sessions with players that change performance instead of boring everyone.
and many more. Get in touch to build a programme around what your group actually needs.
Coach, athlete or team, it starts the same way: a straight conversation about where you are and where you want to go. Get in touch and we'll take it from there.
